The Olive Tree

I am committed to submitting my life to learning and understandingGod's word and as a result he is pouring "a deeper knowledge andunderstanding of his word" into my spirit. I am still reading the bookof Ruth (Chapter 1: 16)16 But Ruth replied, "Don't urge me to leave you or to turn back fromyou. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay.After reading this verse, God led me to the book of Psalms regardinggrowing in his word. Psalms 52 8 But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God's unfailing love for ever and ever. 9 I will praise you forever for what you have done; in your name I will hope, for your name is good. I will praise you in the presence of your saints. God led me to look up the characteristics of an Olive Tree and this iswhat I found.Even though olives grow rather slowly, young olive trees put on heightfairly quickly so training should begin early. Olive trees are veryflexible and can be shaped in many ways. Olive trees prefer deep richsoil, but will grow in a variety of soils, including alkaline and rockysoil. They are drought resistant once established, but do need regular,moderate irrigations.Comparison to the Word of GodOlive trees grow rather slowly (Jesus did not begin his earthlyministry until the age of 30) Young olive trees put on height fairly quickly so training should beginrather quickly. (Train a child in the way that he should go and when heis old, he will never depart from it) Olive trees are very flexible and can be shaped in many ways (If weinvite God into our lives, he will shape us in many ways raising us upto be servants and minister to the needs of his people) Olive trees prefer deep rich soil ,but will grow in a variety of soilsincluding alkaline and rocky soil Matthew 13.The one who received the seed that fell on rocky places is the man whohears the word and at once receives it with joy. But since he has noroot, he lasts only a short time. When trouble or persecution comesbecause of the word, he quickly falls away. The Olive Tree prefers deep rich soil, but it will grow in rocky soil.In order to truly grow in the knowledge and understanding of God'sword, we need to be planted in his word meditating on it day and nightso that the word does not leave our heart. We think that we are growingin rocky soil, but we are hearing it and only receiving it with joyonce!But the one who received the seed that fell on good soil is the man whohears the word and understands it. He produces a crop, yielding ahundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown."They are drought resistant once established.Once established, we are resistant to the devils schemes; we recognizeit and we are able to stand up under it because God’s word allows usto. Race Relations

How many more black on black crimes must happen before the African American race gets it together. Stop blaming others for the greed, ignorance, laziness, lack of drive and motivation. Parents it is your responsibility to instill the right values and morals in your children. Raise them as God commands you too stop allowing things that are wrong.

So many rich & famous athletes are dying but why? So many rich celebrities are dying why? It's time to take the blinders off!! Life is not promised to any of us and the only thing guaranteed is that one day we will all DIE!!

Mentor a child who is lost or wayward. Stop saying it's not your kid or your problem because if you are ever faced with the wayward child in a violent manner...wouldn't you want to rationalize and talk them out of harming you??

We as a race have allowed money & sex to overshadow hope, unity, peace, education, and divine purpose. I'm sure you have read the email that states: "If you want to hide something from blacks put it in a book"...ahhhhhh yep. Technology is too great for the African American race to not be empowered, educated, and living the dreams Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Rosa Parks, Coretta Scott King, Johnny Cochran, and so many others fought and died for. What's your excuse?

It's time we wake up & stop enslaving ourselves with debt, apartments & no homes, luxury vehicles in front of rented property, come on people REALLY!!

If children can learn all the lyrics to songs, all the latest dances, and wear all the latest fashions then why not own the radio stations, production companies, etc??

Leave a legacy not a bunch of EXCUSES!!

As I Am

Happy Holidays!

Thanksgiving was the greatest not one family squabble. Perhaps we finally realize the true reason for the season. Nope we know that life is short & have so many things to be thankful for. The food was great & I only had one helping. I lost 15lbs so I can't revert back.

Looking forward to Christmas the 2 days off will be well used. I'm sticking to my budget this year no over doing it!!!
I have a new attitude & its Gratitude so I will be helping a family in need. Giving is such a part of my daily life so sharing for the holidays is easy.

I'm wiling to invest in the lives of the unfortunate because most people appreciate you. I have given so much to people who didn't want what I had to give or didn't appreciate or value me. This has brought me to a new chapter in my life. I am faced with some issues I have to deal with. Love is so interesting it can take u up or down make you smile or frown. This time I charter the uncharted in hopes of being found in my forever. I thought I had found it but when you receive little or no return on your investment whats left?

All roads to everlasting lead to & from God!!

What does Thanksgiving really mean to you?

I have to answer these questions myself because how can I ask others and not be at liberty myself?
I'm thankful for my ever growing relationship with GOD. He is growing me in places I didn't know I needed growing and showing me FAVOR!!
I'm thankful for the ability to see the world through eyes that work, feel the cool winter breeze on my face, the ability to freely move my limbs, the fact that I have a job, the means to take care of my family, and last but definitely not least my family!! Especially, my girls they are each unique and challenge me to new levels. i encourage them to not be like me but stand on my shoulders and be better than me.

I will be giving of my finances this year to help feed the various homeless souls this year. I wanted to work at the soup kitchen but I don't how I can. My attitude is Gratitude and I will give freely of my money because god has given freely to me a job, a home, and I owe it to him to do something.

Thanksgiving means a time to visit with family, laugh and joke, tell tales of our childhood, and create new memories!!

Life challenges me to change daily, to break out of my shell and meet new people.
It's not always easy to strike up a conversation with a perfect stranger...but I believe in my father and I may be entertaining angels here on earth.

Today was a pivotal day for me because a friend was going through a major crisis actually two friends. However, i realized it could have been me or my family and in a sense it really is. I have grown today and realize that it's not all about me. On the commute home from work I told God no matter what I will serve him wholeheartedly for his purpose and cause. I took the focus off of me and placed it on the needs of Gods people. I have a gift from God to encourage, listen and to motivate!! I love people and it fulfills me to help others.

It's amazing how wonderful it feels to give the word of God to a struggling sister or brother and realize it's by Gods grace that we are even here. I'm still hanging on to my attitude of GRATITUDE!!I love God and I'm so thankful for our new relationship. Sure there will be test but I trust the LORD and his plans for me.

I want more of his FACE not just his Hands. He's so sweet willing to take me back time after time, disappointment after disappointment but yet he is right there with open arms. I'm so grateful and willing to worship him and praise him from all ends of the earth because he is WORTHY 2 B praised. My commitment is LIFE/Death I can't live without him and I give up trying to do things my way because it's not fruitful.

I'm through with the temporary and I'm on to the eternal..the forever relationship with him, the forever happiness, and forever love. Sure there will be trials and tribulations as long as there is an earth but I decree and declare VICTORY in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen!!

Father,

It's me your daughter. I delight in your presence and conversations. Everyday I look forward to waking up to your beautiful world. I hear the birds chirping and the sun is dancing across my face. I wake up in a spirit of praise. Thank you father for loving me inspite of my faults & flaws.

I listen to the news and hear about all the calamity in the world and instead of getting down ad depressed I smile. I know you are still on the throne and are in control of it all. I found out a miracleous thing....you allow things good & bad no matter what. I'm secure in knowing that what you started in me you will see it through till the end.

I am confident that your faithful to do what you say & that since you are not a man and cannot lie, I'm so thankful. Praise & Glory to your mighty name.

EASY, Guaranteed, Simple

These are merely the main ways I can explain how faith can grow. I say it is easy meaning that reading the word is very easy. You have to grasp it slowly, meditate on it, and seek God's guidane to allow for faith o grow.

Guaranteed--because God is not a man that he can lie. It's so comforting to know that he will never leave me nor forsake me. I trust taht inspite of my faults & flaws he still loves me unconditionally.

Simple because as soon as you realize that intelligence comes from meditation and pure worship on a level that is attainable and ever evolving.

IPHONE OR NOT???

The most publicized cell phone in the history of cell phones but yet it still leaves something to be desired. One of the biggest problems I have found is the inability to text photos. Now you may only email them. The other issue I'm having is you can't record video period. Battery life is yet another issue but I have found that if you adjust the amount of time you spend using the features you bought the phone for the battery will last a little longer!!

Okay, it wouldn't be fair if I didn't hit the highlights of why i didn't return the phone. I love the IPOD and the ability to download podcast, listen to my music, and the wonderful map icon, and the digital camera is actually very NICE!! One catch you must have adequate lighting otherwise you won't have a quality picture.

Oh, last 2 snags if your phone is lost or stolen oh well you will have to purchase a new one & since they are such a HOT item be careful! Not enough free ringtones or wallpapers. Sure you can buy & create your own ringtone, video, tv show, or movie but no wallpapers. I'm actually working on some designs for the IPHONE wallpaper & hopefully I can get noticed. Not every adult wants some inappropriately dressed person on the wallpaper or the sky. GIVE ME OPTIONS!!

WOW!! Let me share some inspiration with you!!
Tonight I attended bible study at the best church in the world!! We have one of the most annointed pastors in the whole wide world!! Trust me I'm not kidding better yet come visit or order a cd or a series!! It will blow your mind!

This is what I gained from the overall message & I want to share it with you. The only original things will be scripture that he gave us the rest is conclusions I've come to based on the message!!

I know many people are desiring to get married, become debt free, start a business, or whatever. But my question comes to you as: "What are you doing about it?" I know myself Nursing school is a large goal for me and I know that is my divine calling from GOD! But I am nine hours away from obtaining my Bachelors Degree in Psychology a degree I probably will never use. Ok, education is education and once you have it no one can take it away from you right!!

Even still I committed to completing this degree so I am but plan to turn right around and head to Nursing School. No matter how much money I have made it's not been 100% fulfilling. I'm not ungrateful by any means I thank GOD for my job. But what a waste it would be to live life on earth and not fulfill your GOD given purpose. The very thing he placed inside of you? The very reason you were born??

I've never been so on fire for GOD desiring to learn. To be truly educated in his word & to know him intimately. Sure I'm human & I joke around & do things I know I shouldn't do but aren't we all struggling in some area of our life?

I have this issue with patience...I hate to wait, I want it when I want it & that is usually right now. But tonight Pastor Van embarked on Patience, Perserverance, Compassion, Perspective, Surrender, Agenda, & Fear! Let me give you the scripture references as well:Job 14:14, Romans 5:3, Psalms 23:1-3, Galatians 6:2, Hebrews 10:25, Psalms 139:1, Psalms 17:1, & last but not least Romans 15:4!

Wouldn't it be nice to receive all of GODS promises? Have you ever noticed how all the people GOD used in the bible were flawed...so if he could use them I KNOW HE CAN USE ME!

Let me give you two last things: Developing FILM is a lot like Christians & GOD. Film developing starts out with the NEGATIVE, then the COLOR, and then the Development is COMPLETE you have the picture! Without trials & tribulations we would not appreciate the good times.

Lastly in the words of the GREATEST Pastor in the WORLD, Pastor Van...TAKE YOUR HANDS OFF(put your agenda aside) & see what GOD truly wants you to do!

Have you ever noticed those peg puzzles no matter how you try to force it a square peg will never go in a round hole. A man/woman without trials & tribulations will never have a testimony!!

I LOVE an INTELLIGENT MAN someone who can speak his mind and doesn’t back down from what he believes, someone who is confident but not arrogant, someone who is FAithFUL & CommittED to GOD because if he isn’t how can he EVER be FAITHfully COmmitteD 2 ME? Someone who walks in a room and commands everyones attention not by yelling or causing a scene but just his aura is so thick you can’t help be see him glide across the room!! Someone who is well versed in his history, his culture, himself, easily able to separate work from family, love from lust, and sex from making love!! Someone who is quick witted, yet mild tempered, someone who can get on ALL levels and hold his own!! Someone who is financially stable a great provider one who can handle his money and his time!! One who can appreciate my independence and not be intimidated by my drive but willing to support, encourage, and be right by my side!! A great COMMUNICATOR an HONEST man after Gods own heart & MINE!! TRUTH

Truth--may not always be a fact but a relevant truth!! Y is it so hard to look in the mirror and see who you truly are? Be real to yourself & accept your flaws, imperfections, and mistakes...learn from them , grow from them, & challenge someone to be true to thine own self daily!!

Integrity--of good moral character!! Who are you when no one else is looking?

Relationships are a two way streets often divided, curves, and misdirections but with true love & integrity it can be whatever you 2 make it be!!

Help for the Broken Hearted & confused!!

I simply can't go another da wondering where I stand. Am I yet again straddling the fence or have I fallen over the edge. Something in me is seeking for wholeness but I am still broken. I have accomplished many things in this world but the one thing I desire & lack is a committed, unmoveable, unshakeable relationship wit my father the Almighty God!

I keep moving but I need to stay still. i cry aloud often and feel drained mentally, physically, and emotionally. When will this pass? Open my heart God that I may receive your word & be able to see me as you see me. It's hard to accept love when my earthly father hasn't been here for me. I know let it go it's the past but It hurts so bad. Thirty-four years later it still hurts & it matters so deeply to me.

God i need wholness because the ache within my soul can only be repaired by you. Show mercy to me...hold me in your arms & love on me..God I need LOVE!!

Forbidden Love

Why is it every guy I like never wants to commit? Or better yet he's already committed and has left that detail out!! I have a remedy for this....keep looking. Often times we as nurturing women are too leninet and passive it's time to toughen up.!! Okay men I won't leave you out nobody wants a pushover. If you could ask five questions what would they be?

1. What are you most passionate about?
2. What are your goals short and long-term?
3. If I could ask your ex to describe you in one word what would it be?
4. Are you financially, emotionally, and physically stable?
5. Last but not least....What are you looking for?

How many times have we saw a handsome/pretty face and ignored all the pertinent questions? Tons!! So in my quest to get love & never be cheated I've taken on the task of going after what I truly want. No looking over my pet peeves, no ignoring lack of conversation, or no chemistry. No judging a book by it's cover.

Tips we can use:

If it's too good to be true IT IS!!

Don't ignore the warning signs...Ladies LISTEN a man will tell you everything you need to know in his conversation & his actions! Guys or hers!!
